Volunteer Overview

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with GleaND! Our work greatly relies on the efforts of our volunteers, and we look forward to having you join us. Here are the four steps to becoming a volunteer with GleaND.

1. Read the Guidelines
Please carefully read the Guidelines for Participation to ensure you are willing and able to participate with GleaND activities.

2. Register
Everyone who attends a glean must register as a volunteer. Once you are registered, you are eligible to sign up for gleans, and you do not have to register again. You have the option to create a password, which will give you access to My Page, where you will be able to view your contact information, current signups and glean history. Having an account also allows you to easily sign-up for a glean or waiting list.

3. Sign-up for a Glean
Open gleans are posted on the Glean Calendar. To sign-up, click on the glean link, and then type in your name. You must type it exactly as you did when you first registered, so we can match your record in our database. You must also read and check off the Volunteer Liability form to be added to the roster. Then click on the button that says ‘Signup for this glean.’

After you sign up, you’ll see a page with the address of the glean and helpful information particular to that glean. This is the only place the actual address appears on the website so we encourage you to write it down or print it out. You will also receive an email with the glean information and a link back to that web page.

4. Attend a Glean
When you arrive at a glean, GleaND volunteers will show you where to park and help you check in. We’ll provide a brief orientation before we start to glean.
